Haleh Pedram began sewing at the age of 8 when her Mother taught her how to make a skirt. Once she had permission to use her seamstress mother's industrial sewing machines, she started experimenting with different projects, making various gifts for friends and family. The process of learning to sew has been mostly intuitive but she has now been practicing over 25 years, her craft has most definitely improved. In 2009, while living in Austin, Tx. Haleh began taking upholstery classes at the Austin Community College where she learned from Mike Gutierrez and Paulette Defoe. Shortly thereafter she quit her office job and began apprenticing for Sabrina Stewart (who had also learned from Mike, 20 years prior) at Undercover Upholstery. In 2013, Haleh moved back to the city where she had attended college and forged wonderful relationships, Richmond, Va. She has been here ever since slowly building her business, making upholstery her bread and butter in February 2015. She takes on commercial and residential projects as well as many textile related odd jobs, and gifts are still her favorite thing to make.
